AI-assisted engineering
Features, refactors and data-collection scripts are built in an agentic workflow with Claude Code; every change is type-checked and verified in a live preview.
GUIDU is live on Google Play
LikelightAi builds context-aware applications that turn where you are into what you need to know — no search box, no typing, no tour guide required.
Why we exist
The idea started on a highway in Norway. Our founder spotted a strange facility covered in antennas — but the tour guide was busy explaining something else, and the answer ended up coming from a hurried web search.
Every traveler has these moments: a building, a gate, a street you pass that nobody explains. GUIDU fills that gap. It notices where you are and tells you the story of the place, in your language, the moment you arrive.
LikelightAi's goal is to make that experience work anywhere in the world — accurate, offline-capable, and free to start.
A GPS-triggered audio travel guide for Korea and Japan. Try the live web version below — it is the same product our Android users run.
Narration on arrival
Walk within range of a landmark and its story plays automatically. Tap any sentence to replay from there.
One-minute or deep dive
Every attraction has a one-minute highlight; Korean sites add a three-minute deep dive.
Food near every sight
6,700+ restaurants, one tap away in Google Maps, Naver Map or KakaoMap.
Itineraries in one tap
Pick days and themes; GUIDU groups nearby sights, slots in meals and avoids closing days — computed instantly on the device.
Built for the road
Download a region and narration, maps and photos keep working without roaming data.
Help when it matters
Essential local phrases with pronunciation, plus emergency numbers for the country you're in.
Each city is researched against official city and tourism-board sources before it ships, then expanded in batches.

Technology
GUIDU is designed, written, refactored and tested with Claude Code, Anthropic's agentic coding tool — from architecture decisions to performance work and data pipelines. That workflow is how a one-person team ships a multilingual, offline-first product across two countries.
Features, refactors and data-collection scripts are built in an agentic workflow with Claude Code; every change is type-checked and verified in a live preview.
Tight triggers for single landmarks, polygon boundaries for palaces and large complexes, and entry notifications even in the background.
An eight-slot template — hook, history, highlights, honest notes, local tips, practical info — keeps every attraction consistent in four languages.
Content ships with the app into on-device SQLite; downloaded regions add map tiles and photos to the local cache.
Narration is synthesized by the phone's own text-to-speech — zero audio files to download and no speech server to run.
No account, no user database. Location is processed on the device, and ads are requested as non-personalized.
Planned · Next with the Claude API
Today Claude builds GUIDU. Next, we plan to put the Claude API to work inside the product and the pipeline behind it. These features are in planning and not yet available in the app.
Ask GUIDU
Standing in front of a landmark, ask a follow-up question in your own language — "Why is the roof curved?" "Is this place worth it with kids?" — and get an answer from Claude grounded in GUIDU's verified narration for that place. Only the question and the place you're viewing would be sent; the core guide keeps working offline.
Claude-powered content pipeline
Drafting, translating and fact-checking narration from verified sources with the Claude API — starting with three-minute narration for 474 Japanese attractions in four languages — with a human approving every text before release.

Content is checked against official and public sources. Rumors and unconfirmed claims are excluded — especially around K-culture locations.
Narration includes the inconvenient parts too: crowded hours, closing days, what's worth skipping.
Minimal ads, clear labels, no account required and no tracking SDKs for product analytics.
We welcome conversations with tourism boards, retail partners and investors who want to reach international travelers in Korea and Japan.
